BigGerz Mobile Casino: Storage, Cache and Updates
Our mobile casino is a progressive web app, and not a download from an app store. This changes what a member manages on the phone. There is no installation package to update; there is a browser, a home screen shortcut and a store of cached files. Knowing how those three behave keeps the casino fast and the phone tidy.
Open web appStorage and cache on the device
A progressive web app keeps some files in browser storage so that screens open quickly. These files are small compared with a store app, and they are managed by the browser. The table shows what is stored and what to do about it.
| Item | Where it is kept | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Interface files | Browser cache | Clear if screens look outdated |
| Sign-in session | Browser storage | Sign out on shared devices |
| Home screen shortcut | Phone home screen | Remove it like any shortcut |
| Game data | Our servers | Nothing stored on the phone |
Games run from our servers and from the game studios. Your balance and history are held on the account, not on the phone, so clearing the cache does not remove funds or records.
Adding BigGerz to the home screen
- Open the casino in the phone browser and sign in.
- Open the browser menu.
- Choose the option to add the page to the home screen.
- Confirm the name and place the icon where you want it.
- Open the casino from the icon, which loads it as a full-screen app.
iPhone
Use Safari. The option sits under the share menu and is called Add to Home Screen. Other iOS browsers may offer it in a different place.
Android
Use Chrome or another current browser. The menu offers Add to Home Screen or Install app. The icon then appears among your apps.
Clearing the cache
If a page looks outdated, a game fails to load or the sign-in screen repeats, clear the cache of the browser. Open the browser settings, find site data or storage, and remove the data for the casino. You will be signed out, and the next sign-in rebuilds the cache. The account is not affected.
Updates
The web app updates itself. Each time you open it, the browser loads the current version from our servers. Members do not install updates, and an old version cannot remain on the phone for months. If a change does not appear, close the app completely and open it again, then clear the cache if needed.
Free space and performance
A web app needs far less space than a store app, but the browser still needs room to work. Keep a few gigabytes free on the phone, close apps that run in the background and use a stable connection for live dealer tables, which stream video.
- Prefer wi-fi or a strong mobile signal for live tables.
- Do not run several casino tabs at once.
- Restart the browser after a long session.
Security on the phone
Keep the screen lock active and sign out on shared phones. Do not save the password in a browser that other people use. If the phone is lost, change the password from another device and write to [email protected].
Why we chose a web app
A store app must be downloaded, approved by the store and updated by the member. A web app avoids each of these steps. The member opens the casino in the browser, and the casino looks the same on every device. We also avoid a situation where an outdated version of the app stays on a phone and shows old rules or old offers. The cost of this choice is that the casino depends on the browser, which is why browser care matters.
Working with the browser
| Problem | Likely cause | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Screen does not refresh | Old cached files | Clear site data |
| Repeated sign-in prompts | Blocked cookies | Allow cookies for the casino |
| Game window is blank | Weak connection | Switch network and reload |
| Shortcut opens a browser tab | Shortcut created from a private tab | Create it again from a normal tab |
Private or incognito tabs delete their data when they close. A member who adds the casino to the home screen from a private tab may find that the shortcut opens without the saved session. Use a normal tab.
Notifications and permissions
The web app does not need access to your contacts, photos or location to run the casino. If your browser asks for a permission that you do not understand, decline it and ask support. Install updates to the operating system and the browser, since the web app relies on both.
Moving to a new phone
Nothing has to be transferred. Open the casino in the browser of the new phone, sign in, and add the shortcut again. Balance, VIP points and history are on the account. Remove the old shortcut and sign out on the old phone before you sell or give it away.
Data use on mobile networks
Slots use little data, while live dealer tables stream video and use considerably more. A member on a limited mobile plan should play live tables on wi-fi, and should check the data allowance before a long session. The browser can also show how much data the site has used, in its settings.
Reporting a fault
If a problem persists after you clear the cache, write to [email protected]. State the phone model, the operating system version, the browser and what you saw on the screen. A screenshot shortens the exchange considerably.
